Who we are
We are advancing education
What is next for the Trust?
Since our merger in 2023, our Trust has supported 18 schools with growth, investment, innovation and better opportunities. We foster collaboration across every school, while our Teaching School develops confident, effective and inspired educators.
When Cheviot Learning Trust was first founded, we had high expectations for what we could achieve to benefit the students, staff and wider community. Since then, we have remained focused on turning those ambitions into meaningful action, strengthening our schools and creating lasting impact across our Trust.
Outcomes and opportunities for pupils
Improving outcomes and opportunities for pupils has always been central to our vision. Since the merger, we have worked to strengthen curriculum quality, widen opportunities and support strong progress across all key stages.
SEND and inclusive practice
We are dedicated to creating inclusive and supportive environments where every pupil can flourish. At the heart of this commitment is our approach to supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they receive thoughtful, well-coordinated provision that is fully embedded in everyday school life, not treated as an addition. Across the Trust, this vision is realised through dedicated leadership, proactive support, and a culture of collaboration. School improvement and collaboration
Cross-school learning and collaboration
School leaders across Cheviot Learning Trust are working collaboratively to evaluate and strengthen the curriculum by listening directly to pupils and sharing expertise. Moving beyond standard monitoring, this inclusive approach explores students’ lived experiences, how they learn, retain knowledge, and build on prior understanding. Supported cooperatively across schools, it creates a strong feedback loop, enabling continuous improvement and ensuring the curriculum delivers meaningful, lasting learning for every pupil.
Staff development and workforce
Through our Teaching School and wider networks, staff benefit from shared learning, collaboration and clear progression routes. This helps us attract, develop and retain talented teachers while supporting wellbeing and workload.
Looking towards the future
This progress reflects the journey we have been on together. As we look to the future, we will build on these foundations and continue working towards even better outcomes for our students, staff and communities.
