New partnership with Hutchison Catering

Eleven schools within the Cheviot Learning Trust have signed a catering contract with local business, Hutchison Catering.
We are excited about the opportunities that this partnership will bring to provide healthy, freshly prepared food for our pupils, great opportunities for our staff, and good communication with parents!
Hutchison Catering brings a great quality of food to our schools, focusing on local and seasonal produce. They offer diverse, healthy meals, often drawing on international and street‑food flavours to keep pupils engaged. Their ethos focuses on sustainability, including using recyclable packaging, having a zero-plastic approach, and being an Olio-partner to donate unsold food to the local community.
Their roots are as a family run business, and therefore place a strong emphasis on building lasting relationships with schools, pupils, parents and staff. Their supportive, innovative and people-focused culture extends to their recruitment and onboarding process, enabling their team to effectively train and guide in-school catering staff. This ensures consistency, quality, and a smooth integration into the school environment.
Communication is also expected to improve for the schools involved, as Hutchison Catering provides their own marketing materials, as well as their own meal management system called Appetite, in an attempt to encourage engagement from parents in the school meal process. This system can increase awareness around nutrition and allergies, ensuring all dietary requirements are adhered to. Their complete system supports children, parents and the schools in working towards a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.
We look forward to welcoming Hutchison Catering into Cheviot Learning Trust, as we work together to elevate the health, nutrition, and sustainability of our pupils’ meals.
