Mickley First School receives Good Ofsted inspection

Mickley First School, located in Stocksfield, Northumberland, recently underwent an Ofsted inspection on the 13th and 14th of February 2024. The school has been rated as 'Good' across various key areas including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision.

Under the leadership of Headteacher Andrew Hudson, Mickley First School, which is part of the Cheviot Learning Trust, has established itself as a welcoming and inclusive community hub. The school prides itself on fostering strong relationships with both pupils and their families, ensuring a supportive environment where every child feels safe and valued.

One of the school's notable strengths through the Ofsted report is its commitment to providing leadership opportunities for its students, with initiatives such as school councils and eco-councils. Ofsted notes how these opportunities empower students to take an active role in their school community, promoting a sense of ownership and responsibility.

Mickley First School has demonstrated a strong commitment to meeting the needs of all its pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities. The school's proactive approach to safeguarding reflects its dedication to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Parents and carers are encouraged to provide feedback through platforms such as Ofsted Parent View, contributing to ongoing efforts to enhance the school's performance. As Mickley First School continues on its journey of improvement, guided by the expertise of its leadership team and the support of the Cheviot Learning Trust, it remains poised to build upon its successes and further enrich the educational experience for its students.
